October 14-15, 2022 The Dream Songs Project will have give the premiere performances of X Marks the Dress, the newly composed piece by Dale Trumbore made possible by Chamber Music America’s Classical Commissioning Program grant awarded in 2020.* The piece is a major concert work for voice and guitar. Trumbore’s music sets texts by Kristina Marie Darling and Carol Guess from their book of poems, X Marks the Dress: A Registry. A dark, macabre, and sometimes humorous look at the objects and meaning of weddings through a feminist lens. Trumbore will be joining the ensemble for the premieres at Studio Z in Lowertown St. Paul.
*This commission has been made possible by the Chamber Music America Classical Commissioning Program, with generous funding provided by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
